Rainy and cloudy.
I overslept today, but considering I didn't go to bed until after 3:30, I kind of expected it! And, it's Sunday. I didn't have to be anywhere anyway.
In the later morning I wrote some email and also watched some tv on my computer. I found out about a site that lets you watch tv programs. I'm not downloading them so I don't think it's illegal. At least I hope not. I watched the opening gambit from a MacGuyver, then a full episode of House. I like that show. I've only seen it twice now, but Hugh Laurie is so great. Hard to believe he's a fabulously funny comedian too. I miss Fry & Laurie.
I had my bog standard cheese omelette for brunch, did dishes and spent even more time on the computer. Oh, and I also started reading a book too. I'm actually close to the end of it now - Twilight Children by Torey Hayden. It's good. I like books about helping people with mental/emotional problems.
Fumihiko came home around the usual time, but was tired. He took a bit of a nap, then when hunger pangs were starting to hit me, I went in and gave him a cuddle until he woke up and decided to take me out for dinner.
We went to Benkei, the izakaya that we used to have all of my school parties at. Tonight it was very quiet, but as always, the food was great. We had most of our usuals, with some sashimi. Yum.
After dinner we hit the karaoke box for free time. Yeah. We were there about 3 hours, and by the end I was getting pretty hoarse. Fumihiko likes to try songs he doesn't know very well, so I sing along to help him out. That means that I'm singing a lot! More than 50 per cent of the time. Plus, I did a couple of medleys and duets by myself. That can be hard! My favourite duets to do by myself are "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast (but why oh why don't they release "Gaston" as a karaoke song? It's my favourite song in the whole movie!), and "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" - the Aretha Franklin/George Michael song. That one's a lot of fun to do. Be Our Guest usually gets a sort of dance step from me, plus two accents --French and English. The other "Waiting" gets a lot of arm motions and strong emotional singing. FUN!
We left the Karaoke place around 1:30 and came home. Fumihiko is in bed reading and I should go to bed fairly soon. It was a great day!
OHHHHH, one piece of important Edmonton news....the Oilers won the series with the Anaheim Ducks. That means, for the first time since...forever...they are going to be in the finals for THE STANLEY CUP. Wa hoo! Go Oilers.
Gotta go, night.
