Snow everywhere. A bit cold.
I basically had a quiet day at home until it was time to go to work. In the morning I watched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I had loved the books on tape, so was looking forward to the movie. It wasn't as good as the tapes. Still, there were some amusing parts.
I had a pre-brunch snack today. I don't usually, but I was quite hungry. I had sardines on crispbreads. Filling and quite tasty. I just wanted sardines all of a sudden.
I hummed and hawed about going over to the school early, but didn't. I left the apartment just before 5. I was going to walk as a few minutes earlier I had seen it was snowing quite heavily and the ground looked icy. However, when I got outside it wasn't snowing and the layer of ice on the road had vanished. I took my bike. I did have to ride very carefully, but I usually do anyway. The roads and most of the sidewalks had been cleared so it wasn't bad.
When I got to my school I realized that no-one had cleared the entrance to the parking lot. Well, I wasn't going to either! But, I did have to shovel out my parking space. It took 20 minutes or so. There was a lot of snow there. Sigh.
I went into the school and realized that the heater was off. I'd set it to turn on around 3. It may have, but it was off by something after 5. Too bad for me. Still, I was warm enough for a while as I'd been outside shovelling snow. I prepped for my class, and when the student came, we learned about collocations. It was quite fun today.
After she left I cleaned up and got out the books for tomorrow's first lesson. I called home and hubby told me that my first student had cancelled. Oh well. That means I don't have to go so early anymore. Hurray for that. He came to the school and picked me up.
We bought a few groceries on the way home, and then came in and ate. Tonight we had grilled teriyaki chicken fingers, salad, hijiki and gyoza. The last two things we bought at the grocery store tonight. Fumihiko made coffee for us too. Dinner was good and Hubby liked it a lot. It was really easy though. He did the dishes, which was really nice of him too. I was a bit glad because with the changing weather, my dry skin is back in full force on my hands again. They look really red despite my liberal use of hand cream.
We didn't do too much this evening. We watched Monday's ER on tape, then Fumihiko fell asleep of course! He's still sleeping on the couch.
Tomorrow I now have two lessons, but I don't have to go to the school until 4 ish now. Fumihiko has the day off. He'll need it to recover. He had to shovel snow at his work today too. It wasn't good for his back.
And that's about it. It was a good day. Except for the snow. I thought we were past all that by now!
Gotta go! Night. Oh, one quick last thing. I'm away this weekend, so I won't be able to blog. Don't miss me too much. I'll be here tomorrow night most likely though.
