Hot and sunny, now thundery. Yikes!
A good day. We both woke up this morning a bit after 8 am. The problem was, Fumihiko should have been walking his dog by then. He'd turned off his alarm and expected the coffeepot to wake him up, but it didn't. When he set it up last night he forgot to put the water in it, so it switched itself off. He jumped out of bed and got a move on. He made it to work on time, but wasn't able to go over to his Mum's.
I got up after he left, and checked for news in English. I was lucky enough to find the English news...the BBC. Yay. I watched it, then checked email. Then, I went back to bed. I had no plans, so, why not? I snoozed and relished the cool breeze coming in the window. It was lovely.
When I got up I cooked my brunch. I did something a bit offbeat. I used the last of the blue cheese and the remaining crust and made my blue cheese pizza. I even put some sliced and fried zucchini on it, then covered it in more regular cheese. It was really good. Yum.
I did go out by myself in the afternoon. I went to the local bank machine to make a business deposit and get my bankbook updated, then came home via a clothing store. I wasn't looking for myself you understand, I was trying to find something nice for my niece. I didn't find anything today. That's okay.
I came home, watched Cold Case and wrapped the presents for Katie and her little brother. I couldn't put them in a box to send though because I don't have one that's the right size. I'll see if I can get one at the post office tomorrow. If I have time.
Fumihiko came home while I was wrapping and made himself some noodles. He'd missed lunch and maybe breakfast too so was starving. Then, he Googled a map for me for the barbecue site. After he did that, he went to walk his dog.
When he came back we decided to go out for dinner. I really wanted a place where I could get drink bar, so I suggested Cocos. He was okay with that, so we went there. I had their combo plate thing, and Fumihiko had noodles again. I objected a bit, but was overruled. Apparently hubby would be okay with eating noodles 4 times a day. Bleck.
We got a few groceries at the store and then came home. Hubby watched some horrible thing on WOWOW...rather he wasn't really watching it, it was just on. It was some kind of drama and the language was getting to me. I'm not a prude at all, but when I hear bad language used casually it annoys me. My mother threatened to wash out my mouth with soap if I used certain words, and while I do swear now when I'm angry, I try not to make it an everyday occurance.
We watched ER when it was on. It was a good one too. There were a couple of jabs about a certain US president's policy on Stem Cell research in it. It was about a Professor who had ALS and was reaching a crisis. They showed scenes from his life going back in time, so he started very ill, and we could see the progression of the disease in a way that made it more meaningful. Oh, this year he could still talk...he could still walk back then. Oh, he was mostly fine at this point. And so on. James Woods played the patient. It was good television.
After midnight Fumihiko went to bed, and I watched a bit of Batman Begins. Nice to see it again. Christian Bale has grown up rather nicely, hasn't he? And, of course, I'm such a huge fan of Michael Caine, that it was lovely to see him again too. I was surprised that tonight Fumihiko actually said to me, "Is that Michael Caine?" I didn't think he even knew who Michael Caine is! He's come a long way, my hubby has!
Anyway, that's it for me. It sounds like it's raining quite hard outside, and there was quite a thunderstorm a few minutes ago. I should get off to sleep if I can. I set up the coffeepot tonight and I did put water in it...and coffee too, so as long as I set it for the right time, hubby should be good to go in the morning.
Good night!
