Factory Stock Rules

           

1.                  Body: Any American made car with 108-inch wheelbase or longer is required. Convertibles, pick-up trucks, four wheel drive and compacts are prohibited. The body must be stock appearing and made of steel. Aluminum and fiberglass bodies are not allowed. The body must be completely and neatly painted. No cutting of the floorboard. Boxed interiors are not allowed. The interior must be stripped. Car numbers of contrasting colors must be on both sides of the car and on the roof. Numbers must be a minimum of 18-inches high with a minimum stroke of 4 inches. A 6 x 1 white number must be displayed on the upper right hand corner of the windshield.

2.                  Battery: Only one (1) battery is allowed. The battery must be located outside of the driver compartment and mounted securely to the car. A battery disconnect is recommended and located within easy reach of the driver and track officials.

3.                  Brakes: Four (4) wheel OEM hydraulic brakes are mandatory and must be in good working condition. No aftermarket components are allowed. Rear Wheel disc brakes are not allowed. Aftermarket proportioning valves are not allowed.

4.                  Bumpers: Steel bumpers only. The bumpers do not have to match the make and year of the car. Aluminum bumpers are not allowed. The bumpers may be reinforced. The reinforcement must be hidden from behind the bumper. The ends of the bumpers must be rounded off. Sharp corners are not allowed.

5.                  Carburetor: Rochester 2 GC 2 bbl with venturi size not to exceed 1.375 inches in diameter or 500 cfm Holley 4412 with maximum of 1 11/16 base allowed. Choke butterfly shaft and butterfly removal are the only alterations allowed. A 14-inch air cleaner and filter is required. K&N air cleaners are not allowed. The air cleaner cannot protrude through the hood.

6.                  Coolant: Water is the only coolant that is allowed.

7.                  Drive Shaft: Steel drive shafts only. The drive shaft must be painted white and have safety retainer straps near the front and the rear of the shaft. Chain straps are not allowed.

8.                  Engine: The engine must be located in the stock locations with stock mounts. Welding of the mounts is prohibited.

a.       Maximum of 360 cubic inch displacement. 400 cubic inch blocks are prohibited.

b.     Stock cast heads only. Aluminum, Dart, Bowtie, Vortec or GM angle plug heads are not allowed.

c.      Any flat tappet hydraulic camshaft may be used

d.     Compression Ratio not to exceed 11 to 1

e.      Stock cast iron intake or Edlebrock Performer intakes are allowed.

f.       Stock cast iron manifolds or 1 5/8-inch diameter under chassis headers are allowed.

g.      Roller rocker arms are not allowed

 

9.                  Exhaust: Dual exhaust with a 2 ½-inch diameter maximum pipes and single exhaust with a cross over pipe is allowed. The exhaust must exit behind the driver. Maximum allowable noise limit is 100 decibels.

10.             Fire Extinguisher: All cars must be equipped with a securely mounted and working 3 lb. ABC type extinguisher. The extinguisher must be mounted within easy reach of the driver and track officials.

11.             Fire Suits: Mandatory. Must be in good/safe working condition.

12.             Frame: Must be stock for the model of car used.

13.             Fuel: Pump gas only

14.             Fuel System: Fuel cells are mandatory. The fuel cell must be securely mounted and have a firewall of a minimum of 16 gauge sheet metal separating it in the trunk from the drivers compartment. Fuel lines cannot pass through the driver’s compartment. Electric fuel pumps are not allowed. Minimum ground clearance is eight (8) inches.

15.             Glass: All glass except for the windshield must be removed. Lexan may be used for the windshield. Plexi-glass is not allowed. Three (3) 3/8-inch diameter solid strut rods must be securely mounted in front of the driver.

16.             Helmet: Mandatory. Must be Snell 95 approved and in good/safe condition.

17.             Neck Brace: An approved brace must be worn during all events.

18.             Ignition System. Stock battery operated systems only. Magnetos are not allowed.

19.             Mirrors: Are not allowed.

20.             Radiator: Must be in stock location without any sheet metal alterations. A one (1) gallon overflow-can must be securely mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. All reinforcement for the radiator must be behind the grille.

21.             Rear Axle: Must be stock. GM to GM, Ford to Ford. Locked, welded, posi-traction or limited slip differentials are allowed. Floaters or quick changes are not allowed.

22.            Roll Cage: A full roll cage made of 1 ¾-inch minimum .095 wall thickness tubing gusseted in all corners and braced in the front and rear with four (4) sissy bars on the drivers side door with a minimum of 18 x 24 x 1/8-inch steel plate welded to the sissy bars is mandatory. All roll bars near the driver’s head must be padded with roll bar padding. Galvanized or tolerance piped is not allowed.

23.            Rub rails: Allowed. 1 x 1 inch steel tubing only. The rub rails must be securely mounted to the body using carriage bolts. The ends of the rub rails must be rounded off and welded shut. Kick outs are not allowed.

24.            Seat: Approve made for racing seat is mandatory. The seat must be securely mounted to the frame and or the roll cage.

25.            Seat Belts: Mandatory. Five (5) point system is required. A quick release lap belt must be securely mounted to the frame or roll cage. The belt system must be coded and dated. Maximum age of belts is 5 years.

26.            Shocks: One (1) stock shock per wheel located in the stock position.

27.            Spoilers: Spoilers are not allowed.

28.            Suspension: Must be stock. Cutting, welding or reinforcing of the frame, A-frames, and spindles is not allowed. All front-end components must match the make, model and year of the car. Any coil spring with a minimum diameter of 5-inches is allowed. Adjustable spring spacers are allowed, however, screw jacks are not allowed. Drop spindles are not allowed.

29.            Tires: Hoosier Sportsman tires only. 27/8/15 or 26.5/8/15 are the allowed sizes.

30.            Tow Hooks: Mandatory on the front and the rear of the car. Must be made of 5/16-inch chain. Cable is not allowed.

31.            Transmission: Automatic transmissions only. Must have a working torque converter and reverse.

32.            Weight: Cars must weight a minimum of 3200 lbs with the driver after the race. 55% left side weight with the driver in the seat. All added weight must be painted white and mounted with ½-inch minimum bolts. An eight (8) inch minimum ground clearance for the added weight.

33.            Wheels: Steel made for racing wheels only. 8-inch maximum width. Wheel studs must be ½ inch minimum with minimum ½ inch hex lug nuts.

34.            Window Net: An approved drivers side net is mandatory. The net must have a quick release mechanism securely mounted to the roll cage.

Engine Protest Rule

 Any driver or owner of a car running in the same race may request a teardown. The teardown request must be submitted within 5 minutes of the completion of the race. The submission of the teardown request must be accompanied with $175.00 US funds. Once submitted the teardown money will not be returned until the teardown is completed. The teardown procedure consists of removing the intake manifold, exhaust manifold and one cylinder head. The protested engine is to be torn down by the driver/owner or mechanic of the protested engine. If the engine is found to be legal, $150.00 of the money goes to the driver or owner of the protested engine. If the protested engine is found to be illegal, $150.00 will be returned to the protester. $25.00 regardless of the legality of the engine goes to the Tech Inspector. Only the following people are allowed in the teardown area during the teardown: driver/owner/mechanics of the protester and protested engine, Tech Inspector and Track Officials. Any driver or owner being protested has that opportunity to protest the protesters engine within 5 minutes of protest. Failure to comply will bring immediate disqualification, loss of winnings for that night and loss of total accumulated points for the season to date. If the protested engine is found illegal 50 points will be deducted from points to date. The car that the protested engine was in will not be allowed to participate in any event until deemed legal by the Tech Inspector.
