Summary :
Kissdbz was created June 1998 on Fortune City. Before I created my website,
I use to surf the web for Dragon Ball Z sites, basically for images, and
movie clips. An all time favorite DBZ site I visited basically everyday
was Dbzwarriors. I downloaded basically every movie they had......I still
have them to this day. After awhile I got tired of the movie clips, so
I decided to look for something else. Then I came upon an animated gif,
from PlanetNamek. (They no longer have them). I decided to surf the web
for something more interesting (to me atleast). There were few site that
had them, but for those who did I truly enjoyed them. Also they weren't
as high quality as they are today. I decided to make my own website. I
tried to make one from scratch on Fortune City, but not knowing any html,
It turned out very bad. Plus no none knew about it.
After Reviewing my Hard Drive I found a program I didn't even know about,
Netscape composer, it gave some kind of ease to making layouts. I finally
published my site Kiss Dragon Ball Z/GT, that was the long title I had
for the site, when It first was released. The layout crap, basically everything
on it was crap. I don't have any pics of it, but I can give some type of
description of it. All it had was like a background of a group picture,
and big text leading to Movies, Animated Gifs and links....
Allot of People put me down, and said that my site would never amount to
anything. One person that I truly who said that was VegettoEX, the current
owner of Daisheuu Ex..(I know I spelled it wrong). This made me work even
harder. I started making battles, which attracted lots of people. Since
there were nothing like it on net. As I made more of them the more visitors
I got , but there was one draw back to my site. The layout wasn't what
many people would call suitable for any site. I could barely get on any
links. That's what made me make my 3rd layout, in other words the black
one. Its was pretty good, for someone like me. It won me allot of awards.
In my hits picked up allot. I also got allot of sites to link me.
In that point in time, allot of other gifs came out. One of the ones that
was most remember was PiccoloHD web site. He got lots of hits since he
was linked by Jkwok. He introduced me into roms and emulators. If I didn't
find his site, I wouldn't have as much gifs as I have today. His site was
also the first site with Hyper Dimension gifs. After a couple of Im conversation
he told me about M.U.G.E.N. I didn't know hot to use it well but after
a couple of weeks I figured out how to use it. After 4 or 5 months PiccoloHD
joined my site. The Gifs percentage on the site greatly increased with
PiccoloHD helping me out. After Surfing the net I came upon I site named
DBGT Net, he had mostly every gif that I had on my site, and he didn't
even give me credit. I was pretty mad at first, since he gave phd credit,
but not me. After e-mailing him, he gave me credits, and explained that
he didn't that they were mine. After awhile he transferred all his gifs
to a new site, known as www.dbgifs.com.
My site was then shutdown by Freeservers, because I wasn't suppose to be
image linking from any other serve. That's when I decided to make a new
layout on Geocities. The blue one, as some people should now. Geocites
was a very good host an all, but the fact remained that you could only
use 15mb, when my site alone was 20mb. So I had to move back to Freeservers.
My skill as a gif maker greatly increased, from when I first started, I
got better at using animation shop and Paintshop Pro. This is what basically
made my site better. I had very little content, the only thing majorly
I had was animated gifs....and its still like this to this day ^_^.After
awhile Frank (the owner of dbgtnet), encouraged me to use SSI ( Server
Side Included ). I constructed a layout on Dreamweaver 4, I finished the
layout in about a week, but the thing that held me back was the pages,
I had over 100 pages to do. After like a month or so I released this layout.
I had a host 2gui, thanks to frank, but they was having some type of problem
so my site was shut down after like 2 weeks after I released the new layout.
I was now in trouble since I couldn't find a host in time, to host me.
My site was down for like a week, this greatly made me lose more and more
visitors........After a week of not being able to find a host, I switched
to Anglefire.......
