Fusion

Later on in the series (and in the movies), in order to get strong enough to handle tougher enemies, the Z-Fighters (by which I refer to the strong Saiyans) relied on a handy technique called fusion. With fusion, two fighters could merge together into one being, raising their fighting power tremondously. There are 3 types of Fusions that appears in Dragonball Z.

Fusion Dance

The first one is the Fusion Dance. The two fighters must do the dance perfectly or the Fusion will come out all wrong. Just one mistake , and they can turn into a demented character like Fat Gogeta or Skinny Gotenks. If they do it successfully, they will become one stronger fighter. The new warrior has the combined strenth of the 2 fighters. The only problem is that they don't get to use their full power. A side effect of the fusion is that the new person will become very cocky.

Rules and Effects of the Fusion Dance

1. The 2 fighters mcust be alike in power, size, and build. Power counts the most. If ones weaker than the other, the stronger one has to lower his power to be equal to the weaker fighter.

2. The dance has to be perfect or the fusion will come out all wrong, any mistake will mess them up.

3. The fusion will last for 30 mins. only.

4. When times up, they must rest for a least an hour to regain their strength to fuse again.

Porta Fusion

The second one is The Porta Fusion. This is the most powerfull fusion out of the three. It is hundreds of times better than the Fusion Dance. For the fusion to work, the two fighters must have a pair of Kai ear-rings. The two fighters much put one earing on opposite ears. The Fusion is permanent but Goku and Vegeta were swallowed by Buu and the fusion wore out.

Rules and Effects of The Porta Fusion

1. The 2 fighters must have a pair of Kai Earings

2. The 2 fighters must wear one earing on opposite ears

3. The Fusion is permanent

4. There could only have one fusion in their lifetime

5. If absorbed by a Magical Creature, the fusion will wear off

Namekian Fusion

The third Fusion is the Namekian Fusion. This is when two nameks get together and they fuse. The weaker one will cease to exist, while the stronger one will have more strength and knowlege from the other Namek. This Fusion Lasts forever and there is no posible way to get them apart unlike the other fusions. Plus, the increase, while being quite high, it doesn't measure up to the incredible levels attained by Saiyans when fused.

Rules and Effects of the Namekian Fusion

1. There is none. They just fuse.

There have been 4 different porta and fusion dance people. Gogeta, Gotenks, Veku, and Vegitto. Gogeta is a fusion of Goku and Vegeta. He was in movie 12 and in GT. When he turned SS4, he was the most powerfull person in the whole series. Gotenks is a fusion between Goten and Trunks. He was used to fight Majin Buu. Then, there is Veku. Veku is another fusion between Goku and Vegeta. He is in movie 12 also. Veku is the failed attempt to form Gogeta when Vegeta forgot to extend his index finger. He is probily the weakest fusion. Then, Vegitto, is the strongest of them all. Even though Gogeta is the strongest when he went to SS4, if Vegitto had been allowed to turn SS4, he would be much stronger than Gogeta.
