In the Men's 20km race walk (9 loops), Arturo Huerta (Toronto, ON) finished 21st with a time of 1:29:27. Tim Berrett (Edmtonton, AB) was disqualified. In the Women's 20km race walk, Karen Foan (Nanaimo, BC) finished 20th with a personal best time of 1:38:09.

Finish! Tim Berrett finished 19th with a time of 3:59:34. Arturo Huerta had a visibly difficult time in the latter part of the race but he did not quit. He was the last finisher (31st) with a time of 4:25:07 and went around the stadium for another lap with the Canadian flag waving proudly. |
