The conservatives in Congress who railed against an "out-of-control, unaccountable judiciary that thumbed their nose at Congress and the president" during the Terri Schiavo episode have unleashed dangerous forces that they may not be able to control.

“It’s a matter of ethics. You either have them or you don't. They're either important to you or they're not.  You either expect leaders to do the right things or not. If you fall on the 'or not' side of the equation, then this isn't any big deal to you. To you the ends justify the means. To you politics is all about getting, consolidating and increasing power. Power is the end and the means are "whatever it takes".”
Why are they defending Tom Delay?

~~~Some of us are unwilling to enter this wilderness.  Freedom demands vigilance.
 Once these lines are crossed, we surrender our values and forfeit our traditions.  Moral courage demands that we do what is right, rather than what some see as “expedient.”  This slippery slope leads to atrocities and depravity.  Those who wallow in gutters of torture, murder, and other criminal behaviors are guilty of treason.   Stand firm.  Reject amoral pretenders who wrap themselves in the flag and condone torture, vigilantism, and amoral behavior.  We can do better.   And we should. 

Tom Delay is not fit to serve.  Don Rumsfeld's policies and practices have cost American lives and he  should step down.  Bush misled us into joblessness, unending conflict, and economic disaster.  He should be impeached.  Cheney has conflicts of interest which disqualify him from serving as VP.   For too long this administration has rewarded incompetence and they continue to undermine American security in favor of the corporate bottom line.

It is time for justice in America.  Write your representatives.
