BATMAN

ROBIN

MR. FREEZE

BATGIRL

POISON IVY

BANE

Usually I don't complain if a movie-version of a Batman villain is very different from the comic book, unless it is persuading and good. The origin of the Joker from Batman 1 or the Penguin and Catwoman in Batman Returns were very different from their comic-book counterparts, but they were satisfying, or perhaps, even better than the originals (especially the Penguin). Tim Burton tried to give them an extra ''depth'' lacking in the comic book versions. But Bane…? They completely slaughtered and reduced the character into a moron. His appearance and costume were good and pretty faithful to the comics, since for the role they cast a suitably big man, former wrestler Jeep Swenson. But Bane as a mindless servant to Poison Ivy…?

About Bane in the comics:

Bane first appeared in Vengeance of Bane#1 in 1993. He, of course, was the man who broke Batman. Bane began a very successful attempt to control all crime in Gotham City, by requiring a "tribute" - some 50% of all the take. Bane was captured by Jean Paul Valley shortly after he became Batman. After spending some time in Blackgate, Bane kicked the Venom habit. After getting the tar kicked out of him, Bane escaped (with some help from KGBeast) and is now trying to prevent the flow of Venom into Gotham. When he met up with Batman, he did not want to fight him (contrary to Batman's desires).
