The Mystery of Chess Boxing
Stars: Lee Yi Min and Jack Long

The Mystery of Chess Boxing is a really good movie. It's about an enthusiastic kung fu student (Lee Yi Min) who seeks to avenge his father who was murdered by the Ghost Face Killer, a master of the deadly Five Element Fist. Lee Yi Min attracts the attention of the master of Chess Boxing (Jack Long) who the Ghost Face Killer's top enemy. Together, the two devise a cross fertlization of Chess Boxing and the Five Element Fist to put an end to the Ghost Face Killer.

Shaolin Drunk Monkey
Stars: Elton Chong, Mike Wong, Sue Lee, and Eagle Han Ying

Elton Chong stars in this movie as Mo, the son of a victim of Silver Eagle (played by Eagle Han) who wants revenge. He meets up with a red-nosed old beggar (played by Mike Wong) who decides to take Mo (Elton Chong) on as his pupil, and so on from there. The movie could have been better, but all in all, it was good. I pretty much enjoyed the last fight scene. It's the beggar-master's niece (Sue Lee), Mo (Elton Chong), and the beggar-master (Mike Wong) vs. the Silver Eagle (Eagle Han Ying).

Invincible Shaolin
Stars: Kuo Chui/Philip Kwok, Lo Meng, Wei Pai, Chiang Sheng, Lu Feng, Sun Chien, *Kara Hui Ying-Hung

An evil Ching warlord (Wong Lung Wei) comes up with a brilliant way to rid of the Shaolin masters. He invites three north Shaoliners to his mansion and has them fight it out with three south Shaoliners. The Northerners win, accidentally killing two of the three southerners. News reaches Shaolin where the elder dispatches three top fighters to train with other elder masters, each learning a style to defeat their given opponent. (And that is where is starts getting good.) So all the time, these Shaolin masters are fighting each other (which shouldn't be) and pleasing the real enemy (unknown to both sides at the time).

The Invincible Pole Fighter
aka The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter
Stars: Gordon Liu (Liu Chia-Hui), Kara Hui Ying Hung, Alexander Fu Sheng, Lily Li (Li Li-Li), Hsiao Hou, Liu Chia-Liang, *Yeung Ching Ching

This was the last movie Alexander Fu Sheng appeared in. Before he finished making this film, he was in a car accident and died hours later in the hospital from severe injuries.

In this film, he plays the 6th brother of the Yang family who goes crazy after seeing all of his 6 other brothers and father killed in battle (except the 5th brother, played by Gordon Liu Chia Hui). Now, before they'd left for battle, the mother (Lily Li) read a prophecy that said, "Seven have left, just six return." She thought it meant that only one of her 7 sons would be killed, but instead, they were all killed (5th brother ran off, though), and on the 6th brother came back to the house. Makes sense? "Only six (which is brother #6) returns.

The fifth brother goes off to a monastery to become a monk. Later, the elder monk leaves to go to see the Yang family. He tells them that their 5th son is alive and well, and then on his way back to the temple, he is killed.

As the movies goes on, 8th child of the Yang family (played by Kara Hui Ying-Hung) is sent off to find her 5th brother. And then at the end, there is the final battle.

Originally, the 6th brother (Fu Sheng) was supposed to regain his sanity and go to find 5th brother, but due to his tragic death, the script had to be changed. So the scene where the mother tells 8th Yang to go find her brother is the last time Fu Sheng is seen in the film.

This was the first Fu Sheng movie I saw, and I later found out he'd passed away years ago. Even though it was a while back, I was sad. I have been watching a lot ofhis movies, and I just bought the Brave Archer 2 off Ebay. Ever since, I have been a Fu Sheng fan.
