 My take on this game?

I did not get to watch this game as my computer had crashed, but I went over this game several times and I also read all the commentary on this game. It seemed that Kasparov is suffering the same fate as Kramnik, i.e., until he lost to the computer ... he played almost without fear. After both had lost a game to the computer, they seemed to play the next contest in a slightly different manner than before their loss.

After his loss to the box in the previous game, Kasparov - from the pictures, and the game - did not seem to play with quite the same gusto that he had displayed earlier. His play was somewhat tentative, surely against any weak human he would have opened the game with ...b5 at the appropriate point. Eventually the computer opened the game, and came close to winning, but careful play by Kasparov saved the half-point.

Kasparov, Deep Junior draw game four

03.02.2003 After two rest days and a devastating loss Garry Kasparov withstood considerable pressure to salvage a draw. In front of a packed audience commentators Ashley, Seirawan, Benjamin, Jennifer and Greg Shahade and Susan Polgar confessed that they had no idea what was going on.  (Click here.)
