Happy Man came to being long after the first instigation of the War on Drugs, and the Just Say No campaign had become enshrined in the modern American Culture. Strangely enough, so had the everyday use of over-the-counter medicinal enhancements, such as trucker pills like that bastion of 24-hour-call-centers everywhere, Jet Alert.

Introduction by S. Morgan:

Much has been written about the Happy Man phenom, but little by those actually involved in its development. It is therefor my pleasure to offer some observations and commentary on some of the earliest known HM comics. Over the following weeks, you can log in to see examples of HM art produced during the renaissance of Happy Man. Most of these were designed during the “YELLOW PHASE” on 3” X 3” canvases by two known artists struggling through what is now knon as the "PROGRESSIVE YEARS”.
