Several years
ago someone asked me if I would be interested in writing a weekly column
in a local weekly newspaper. After giving it some thought, I realized
that it would be a good idea and might help some people better understand
various areas of law. Further, I wanted to make it information and
personal thoughts that might actually be of use to the readers of the column.
The series of columns, which I called
From the Legal Pad,
ran for several months and I reprint some of the columns here.
IMPORTANT!
They were written several years ago, and, although I have corrected any
obvious changes in the state law, I did not rewrite them, and I may have
missed some of the changes in areas in which I don't work everyday.
Remember the articles are based on Georgia law which may or may not be
different in other States.
