Misty Thicket is a forest near the Halfling city of Rivervale. This
is where Halflings go to train. Many people consider this to be
the best newbie zone in the game. This is because of the incredible
safety in the zone. The zone is seperated into two areas by a huge wall.
The east side is for lower-level (1-5) players, and the west side for higher-level (6-10)
players.
No monsters come from the west side to the east side and vice versa.
This means that while you're on the east side, no higher-level monsters
will come and crash your party. There is also a dangerous Goblin Wizard
called Mooto who is more powerful than his level lets on.
Aside from that, Misty Thicket has no danger. It's
all you could want in a newbie zone. The only creatures that will attack
you on sight are the Orcs and Goblins. Plentiful hunting and a wide range
of creatures means that you could stay here until level 10, although
that's really pretty boring. Grouping is possible but pretty much
unnecessary. Another bonus is that you can sell and buy stuff without
leaving the zone.
Final Verdict
A very safe zone. One of the best newbie zones in the game because of the
wall. Group if you want, it doesn't matter.
