Architects South has worked with public and private schools in the development of new facilities and in the attempt to create environments that are conducive to stimulating creativity in the students.
Much of our experience relates to the public school systems in the state. We have a close relationship with the State Department of Education and their requirements for new construction.

We have shown a portion of our completed work below for you reference and information.
As you can see, our design objectives relate to long lasting, durable, sustainable building design. You will see much exterior and interior masonry, many times varying the texture or brick color for added interest. Our goal is to provide our clients with the most building for the money spent, but yet provide building systems that will stand the test of time and abuse.

Sumner Hill Jr. High School Autidorium / Clinton Public School District
This 500 seat, single level, free standing performing arts theater has been master planned and designed based on the districts expected site use, music and performing arts needs.

Sumner Hill Jr. High School Autidorium / Clinton Public School District
The facility was located on the campus to provide a new image and was constructed for approximately $110.00 per square foot. Construction was completed in January 2002. The master planning considered future campus developement of vehicular and pedestrian circulation.

Pearl High School Auditorium Addition/Pearl Public School District
This 1200 seat, two level performing arts theatre has been designed as an addition to the existing Pearl High School. The addition provides a full fly, and extensive stage equipment and facilities.

A glass skylight projects directly over the entry area lobby and metal storefront extends down the front wall creating a two level atrium entrance into the auditorium.

There is a ticket booth and three roof gables at the main entry with prefurnished metal roof panels to match the existing building panel color.

Pearl Upper Elementary School Multi-Purpose & Classroom Addition/Pearl Public School District
The upper elementary addition provides an additional seven new classrooms, one new music classroom, and a multi-purpose space that provides a half court basketball court and can be used for public meetings and functions.

Pearl Junior High School Locker Room Addition/Pearl Public School District
The Pearl Junior High School locker room addition consisted of the removal of existing locker room space which had deteriorated over time and the construction of a two level addition. The upper floor provided locker rooms and coaches offices while the lower floor provided football, soccer, and track dressing rooms, showers and support spaces.

This junior high locker room addition was located directly adjacent to the upper elementary multi-purpose addition, therefore we maintained the exterior building design.
