development needs than men. (1995) She goes on to cite that the majority of women have
been in the classroom prior to entering the realm of education, with elementary
principalships being the second area where women fill positions
consistently. Shautz goes on to refer to a study that found women
derive more satisfaction from supervising and exerting more control
over teacheršs professional activities; discussions of classroom
difficulties directed by a female administrator aided to the
understanding of what was happening in the classrooms. ( 1995)
