A Tribute to Dad

This is my daddy.
FRANCIS (J.R.) P. CAMMACK JR.
Born August 4th 1931.
He went to be with the LORD on April 9th 1999.
He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
PSALM 23 (KJV)

He had a great smile and a kind spirit.

i keep trying to find the right words to describe my dad.
the things that always come up are that:
He had the heart of a poet,
the hands of a musician,
and the mind of an analyst.
He was gentle yet strong.

Everyone who knew him liked him.

He was a man of few words but the words he had were well thought out.
His favorite musician was Neil Diamond.
His favorite songs were Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross.
His favorite color was "
ALL OF THEM".

Dad and Mom in full Japanees grab.
Mom is a teacher for the
Department of Defence Dependent Schools (DODDS).
She is currently stationed in Japan.

He had a desire to live like no other.
When he was a child a had polio.
He should have died then but it was not God's will.
He was full of life and past that on to his six children.

Four generations of Cammack's.
Francis Jr., Vince (back), Andy, and Grandpa/Francis Sr.

We all love him deeply.
Each of us had a different yet
very special relationship with him that is ours alone.

Dad giving me away when Phil and i were married.

Dad was at home any where he found himself.

Dad at home.
He is standing in the Snake River Canyon
with the Prine Bridge in the backgroud.

Dad could find beauty any were he looked.
Often it was where no one else took the time to go.

Dad took this picture and about fourty more of this same tree.
Each is different yet in it own way striking and beautiful.

This poem was found among some of dad's things.
It truely speaks of who he was.

The significance of this little piece of paper,
is that this is turly the way dad lived
This is his handwriting.

The wiseman treasures what other men consider trash~
Does not price what is difficult to get~
Turnsback to study what others have passed by.
Such a man acting with~in the harmony of nature,
finds true peace where others find chaos
Lao Tzu

He was my dearest friend and greatest confidant.

He did truly love the Lord
