The Process cont'd.:

Kings and Queens were important figures in medieval times, and even today they still are! In the USA, the President has a similar position, but not all the power. The President shares the government with the House of Representatives and the Senate. They each have an equal amount of power.

Churches were the center of medieval life. Today they still are in many countries. The Pledge of Allegiance still says, "One Nation Under God."

Things change over time, but many things stay close to the past!
