What is the Office? The Office or Prayer of the Church or Liturgy of the Hours is the central prayer of the Church said by all Priests and Religious and many lay people. It's central component is the singing or recitation of psalms and canticles (songs) from scripture, particularly from the Book of Psalms. It unites members of the Church in prayer to the Mass and to each other, no matter where you are in the world.
