   The Cookley 2000 clock was unveiled at 11.30pm on December 31st 1999, so that a large crowd of Cookley residents could watch the countdown to the millennium. The celebration was accompanied by a spectacular firework display on the stroke of midnight. The clock, costing £6,500, standing on the Elizabeth Bache Corner has a time capsule planted beneath it. It was purchased with the help of businesses and resident fund raising events throughout the year of 1999.
