Notes
The 1835 census says that his father was a Gerhard Neufeld, but I
believe that this is a misreading. In 1835, he is listed at Fuerstenau #21,
and is said to have come to the Molotschna in 1803. The 1835 census also
lists a Helen Warkentin, aged 24, in the household. Could she be a maid?
