Tension Headaches

1 tsp. Wood Betony

1/2 tsp. Lavender

1/2 tsp. Rosemary

Infuse the ingredients together for 10 minutes. Drink 1 cup hourly.

Stress and nervous tension

Dried Wild Oats

Dried Skullcap

Dried Borage

Dried Licorice

Combine the ingredients in equal amounts. Use 1 tsp per cup and infuse for 10 minutes. Drink 3-4 cups per day.

If this tension results in headaches or migraines, add Wood Betony in half the amount of the other herbs. E.G. 1/2 oz each of the above herbs to 1/4 oz Wood Betony.

Colds and Flu

When suffering from a cold or the flu, it is important to cut out all carbohydrates and dairy products. Do not eat babanas or white sugar. All of these are mucus forming and will exacerbate symptoms. Try to increase intake of garlic and vitamine C and, of course, the patient must also REST.

For a basic cold

Yarrow

Elderflower

Peppermint (white), mint can be used as an alternative.

Combine the ingredients in equal amounts and infuse for 10 minutes. Use 1 tsp. per cup. When symptoms are bad take 1 cup every 2-3 hours. Use 3 times per day with lesser symptoms.

Cold + Flu - add Boneset in equal amount

Cold + Cough - add Coltsfoot in equal amount

Bronchitis

Use basic recipe as above and add 2 or 3 of the following in equal amounts...

Thyme

Elecampine

White Horehound

Hyssop

Mallein

To prevent colds take a daily dose of 1 tsp. Purple cone flower infusion.

To aid liver function

Burdock

Blue Flag

Yellow Dock (roots)

To aid kidney function

Cleevers

Dandelion
