This is the conference room where the NWA Dopplar Radar and Severe Storms Conference was held
Here is the sign outside the room
It's dark, but it's me in front of the sign to the conference
I found this nest outside the NWS in Valley, NE. It was on the back of one of the instruments we use there.
Here is a picture of the NWS in Valley, NE. This office serves the Omaha area and is where I worked for the summer of 2002.
Here is a better picture of the building with the dopplar radar dome in the background
Here is a view from inside the office at the NWS in Valley, NE.
This is one of the numerous sunrises I witnessed working the early morning shift at the NWS from 5am til 1pm
Here are some more sunsets, I love the beauty and peacefulness of sunrises and sunsets. It puts all your troubles you have in the past.
Here is another good picture of a sunset.
Yet another.
Here are a series of pictures of a developing thunderstorm just to the east of Ames. Since the sun was setting, it was an awesome time to take these magnificent pictures.
So many colors
and so large
This storm wasn't too severe, but was very photogenic
Here's another cool picture
this one shows it's starting to take on an anvil shape
Once again it is developing rapidly
looks like one big marshmellow
Isn't this a colorful picture
Can you tell I liked this thunderstorm
I'm close to the end
Well, here's the last picture, hope you liked them.
This is an anvil I caught right after sunset one evening
Here's another picture of it
These are pictures from our trip to Colorado during the summer of 2002. These are the famous dinosaur tracks which are thousands of years old.
Here is a close up shot of the prints
and another
The dinosaurs weighed so much, they caused depressions in the rock as you can see here
Here is a view of the foothills in Colorado from the top of a shrine we visited
It wouldn't be right if I didn't get in a shot with the foothills
Here is the picture of the shrine we visited. We had to climb about 500 steps to get to the top where this shrine was. It was challenging even for the most fit person due to the thin air. It was a nice challenge and going down was pretty fun!
Here is an elk at the Wildlife Safari in Nebraska
Here is an elk drinking some water, you can see more in the background eating some grass
This elk is trying to get away from us!
Here is some elk attempting to cross the road in front of our car
I decided to take one more picture of an elk
This elk decided to go for a swim
What are you looking at?
Look! It's a duck
WOLF!! Run for your lives. Never mind, he's in a caged den. Thank goodness.
He doesn't look very happy, better stay clear of his path.
Here is a picture of a Crane. Nebraska has lots of them.
A closer view of the crane
Buffalo in the distance in the herd
Here is a close up picture of an antelope, doesn't he look cute
Here a cool cloud picture with the sun shining through.
Here is a picture of a storm rolling in during the summer of 2002 in Bellevue, NE.
Here is another picture of the same storm.
