    Y/C
    1)Refers to the separate processing of the luminance (Y) and chrominance (C) video signals.
    2)Y equals the luminance portion and C equal the chrominance portion of the video signal. A Y/C piece of equipment or system will keep the components separate as much as possible.

    Y; Y-signal
    The luminance or brightness part of a video signal

    Y-adapter
    An audio connector which combines two signals or splits one signal into two.

    Y-axis
    The vertical line on a graph or chart, usually containing the values for data points.

    Y/C / S
    Method of transmitting color video over two conductors, one carrying luminance (Y) and the other carrying color (C) information.
