Up in the Air
Prop Plane

· Sunday, 10 April 1983 (afternoon): Returned from a visit to Glen Burnie (my brother Bob's) on a 737 by Piedmont Airlines (now US Airways). Landed at the Triad Regional Airport, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC.
Took 45 minutes to get my ears unclogged, as I had a slight cold.

· Sunday, 11 July 1999 (around 3 pm.): Went to the EAA Air Show at Hagerstown Regional Airport. Went up for about 15 minutes in an Eagle Air Cessna 172 with a pilot and a motorcyclist couple.
We went towards Clear Spring, then headed back and turned over Marsh Pike. We then turned back to the runway—with major right banking!
It wasn't the climb or descent the got me, it was banking right. That's where I was sitting. We had left the windows open. Close to but not white knuckling. We had a little turbulance. In a small plane, it feels like it'll be ripped apart. I got to take control for about 30 seconds. I went slightly right, slightly left, slightly up, and slightly down. Then I gave it back to the pilot and grasped my seat belt. I'm glad I did it.

Web Design
I initiated and designed the following pages.
HCC's
ART CLUB E-Page | The Evan Crossley E-Gallery (now defunct) | INTERNATIONAL CLUB E-Page

The following three were regrettably discarded by their free host, Angelfire.com, after a long period of activity. (I did not save back-ups either.)
HUMAN SERVICE CLUB I was asked by a club member to just help her club set up a web page—OK, I went overboard and set them up in business. But who better to design the Social Workers' Club?

AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENT UNION I was asked by the lady who was trying to revamp interest in the college's old Black Student Union to get her on the web. I really spent some time on this one, researching appropriate links and whatnot. I liked the background. It was a quilted green pattern from Hee Yun of Korea, as were many of my backgrounds. Again, who better to start this page than the definitive hysterically white guy?

(Originally) Student Government Association's Communications Committee I was elected chair of this committee (no-one else wanted to do it). It was to promote better interclub communication. I was trying to get a very low watt radio station for the campus. I put on this page stuff that did not make it to the school paper or bulletin. It was also home of the CRANE, the Campus Reach Audio Nearcasting Endeavor. I revamped it— in case someone wanted to try again for a radio transmitter—as the Radio Club. It then was deleted for inactivity. The unused bulletin boards remained until the end of 2005, when I deleted them.

Friends & Family
I also helped with the following pages--or the original websites:
"Adeline Foster" |  Bill Simmons | Bobby Watkins | Chad Wiles

and made pages for seven others, three out of friendship for their career pursuits, two for love and their career pursuits, and two just for love. All have been discarded, though two of the people have other websites now. The friends have remained; the loves have not. The lesson was finally learned.

Canoeing On Saturday afternoon, 1 May (2004), he went canoeing down Antietam Creek with Ted Howe, Alban Howe, and Brian Gauthier. It was his first canoe trip ever. It was a nice day, the creek was full--no dragging or scraping bottom--and there was a nice breeze.

A little gosling fell off the bank and couldn't quite make it up. Ted helped the little yellow-downed bird.

Wading at Mim & Leo's pool

Sunday, 29 August 2004, with Mim and Ellie, then alone. Humid, but a nice breeze. The showers failed to materialize.

Saturday, 4 September 2004, with Ben and his kids, and later Evan and Alban, then alone. Drier and cooler, signs of the last hurrah of summer.

Wednesday Afternoon, 22 June 2005, with the Kenny/Hennesy clan, at "Uncle Larry and Aunt Janie's" estate off Falls Road, in Baltimore County. A fine pool. After debating whether to get out of my dress suit and into my swimming suit, I finally changed. I came onto the patio to a clap of thunder. I went in anyway. Eventually, Bob called Nick and me out. well, I got out. I changed back into my dress atire. The sun came back out.

Thursday Afternoon, 30 June 2005, alone at Mim and Leo's.

Sometime in Summer of 2006, after work at Reico, at Mim and Leo's, with a neighbor of theirs and his two sons.
