This one I originally drew for another site. It's my first try at a serious picture of the X series characters (of recent attempts, anyway.) I spent much more time working on the background than anything else. I liked how X turned out in Grayscale! I wanted his eye color to match the green of the background. This one was churned out in two hours. One hour of drawing, one hour coloring. I used sakura micron pens again. I FINALLY got a new pen! .35mm thickness. (Retiring my dying .20mm pen.) Colored on photoshop, X in grayscale mode, while the background is in RBG color.
This is a full grayscale picture I did from my fan fic. It's also one of my better attempts at Zero's helmet. I'm still reeling from someone telling me Zero looked bloated since I drew his helmet wrong. It's STILL wrong in this picture (Now that I've stared at the Zero model for awhile, I know what I did wrong.) I really liked how the grayscale turned out on this one. While I don't see it, someone told me X looked girly in this one (DRAT DRAT!!!) When I asked further, the person told me it was X's eyes that made him look girly, which was interesting to me since his eyes aren't that detailed at all. His shoulder covers are wrong, I over compensated from the first sketch, when his shoulders weren't pointy enough (which made him look like he was slouching.) As you might have noticed, Zero's cloak was modeled after Bass's cloak from the EXE series. I just feel like that is a really cute cloak, so I adapted it for Zero's use ^_^. I'll do more grayscale soon, I'm practicing making clouds with grayscale. Anywho, this pic was drawn on Sakura Micron pen, .35mm, on my new favorite premium drawing paper, Strathmore brand (Premium recycled) 400 series. It was really good the way the paper was smooth, thick, and doesn't suck up too much ink from the pen. At $4.99 for 24 sheets, it's a bit steep for sketching, but if I know exactly what I'm drawing, I'll use that paper.
This one was inspired by Hitoshi Ariga's Rockman Megamix manga. It contains text from the book (translated, of course), so it's sort of a spoiler from the manga. Well, if you know nothing about the manga, the text won't make sense, so it's not really a spoiler, I guess. Drawn again on the Strathmore paper (LOVE LOVE), inked with .35mm Sakura Micron pen, and colored on Photoshop. I was working on shading of the shiney metal more that before. I think the glare and shading on Mega Man is a bit more realistic this time. C. Rock is lighted in the background without shading to give him a fading effect (consistant with the storyline.) I was crying as I drew this, and absolutely lost it emotionally somewhere during the translation of the text. It's just so SAD! I have no idea why I picked those colors for the background, but it seems to work.
