Not much known about him, except that he probably lived and worked his whole life in the immediate vicinity of the farmhouse. He, his wife, and their kids are all buried in the family cemetery in Arlington; the graves tell a sad tale of no less than 4 babies having died at less than 2-years-old (some after only a few days). The four unfortunates listed below are the only Alpheus & Rosa offspring that we know of, simply because those graves are in the cemetery. But hopefully there were actually others (i.e. in the ten-year stretch between 1895 and 1905) who were healthy and lived more normal lives, perhaps getting married and moving away from the area. |
