Angel Attack
In the year 2015, 15 years after the Second Impact man has waited for the return of the Angels. Shinji Ikari, the Third Child, is lives in the new city of Toyko 3. After 15 years the angels decide to return. Shinji is waiting for his new guardian Misato K.. His estrange father, Gendo Ikari has called upon him. Gendo is head of the UN secert Organization Nerv. Gendo "has a purpose" for Shinji. To be the pilot of Evangelion Unit 01, the last hope for the future of man. After multiple failures by the UN on destroying the Angel Sachiel, the Un turns power over Nerv. At the same time Shinji arrives at Nerv thinking he is going to meet his father for a visit. It turns out that the other pilot, Rei has been seriously injured during the activation test of Evangelion Unit 00 have failed and a spare pilot was need. Shinji refuse to pilot the Evangelion, until he sees Rei in her physical condition. Shinji finally agrees to pilot Eva 01. Shinji was able to Syncronize with the Eva up to 41% with no proir training. Shinji is launched to attack Sachiel. The episode cut off before the end of the battle.

Shinji wakes up in Nervs hospitial wondering if the Angel was just a bad dream. He realizes that he was not dreaming when Rei pass by on a stretcher. Misato and Ritsuko Akagi outside collectiong all the pieces of Unit 01 from the battle the night before. Gendo is having a hard time with The Committee and Lorez Keel. They are discussing the recent battle against the angel. Lorez says at the end of the meeting, "There is no turning back." Gendo understands there is no turning back or else mankind will perish in the wake of Third Impact. Back outside we see the plans of a new defense building. Misato learns about Shinji waking up. Shinji, Misato, and some Nerv employee are talking about Shinji's residents. He rather live along than wiht his father. Ritsuko said that they find this natural and being together unnatural. Misato decides to take in Shinji to live with her. On the way home Misato brings Shinji to a park to watch the city bulidings rise out of the Geofront.
