The outcome of The Trial depends on what you do at the Millennial Fair in the beginning of the game. You are on trial for "premeditated abduction of royalty" and the Chancellor will tear you apart if you do certain acts at the Fair. One of these acts are whether or not you save the cat. If you do not save it, the little girl will come in screaming that you did not even try to help her. If you save it, then she will come in and say how nice you are.
You will also want to avoid eating the old man's lunch. It is a pink package near where you go to fight Gato. He calls you a thief if you eat it.
The Chancellor will also throw questions related to Marle's wealth. If you get her Pendant before you see if she is alright after bumping into her, the Chancellor will look at that as greed and her wealth tempting you. Also, if you tell Melchior that you will try to talk Marle into selling her Pendant, the Chancellor will also use that against you.
These hints do not have any real advantage other than you will obtain an Ether from a sympathizer if you are found not guilty.

You can exchange Petal, Horn, Fang, and Feather for items in 65,000,000 BC. You will need three each of two different items. Here is a list of these items:
Petal and Horn=Sage Bow
Petal and Fang=Ruby Gun
Petal and Feather=Stone Arm
Fang and Horn=Flint Edge
Fang and Feather=Ruby Vest
Horn and Feather=Rock Helm

You can exchange Petal, Horn, Fang, and Feather for items different items when you re-visit 65,000,000 BC. You will need three each of two different items. Here is a list of these items:
Petal and Horn=Dream Bow
Petal and Fang=Dream Gun
Petal and Feather=Magma Hand
Fang and Horn=Aeon Blade
Fang and Feather=Ruby Vest
Horn and Feather=Rock Helm
Later one you will be able to exchange ten of each item for the Ruby Armor also.
Various Passwords
The first set of passwords is in the Factory in 2300 AD. There are the two Crane passwords: XA and BB to move the large red barrels out of your way. The next password is the Defense Lock Code: "Zabie", which can be translated to XABY on the control pad.
Another password is in Lucca's flashback when her mom gets her clothing caught in one of Taban's machines. That password is LARA.
Rock Locations
Different Rocks will give you the ability to learn different Triple Techniques (all of which do not involve Crono). The Rocks are not hard to obtain as long as you know where to look. If you want a list of the Techs that can be learned from the rocks CLICK HERE.
The Black Rock can be obtain from the Poyozo Doll in Kajar. To find the Doll, open the books in this order: Water, Wind, and Fire.
Go to the Laruba Ruins after losing Crono and talk to Nu (who will also change names) to obtain the Silver Rock.
There is a chest in the Giant's Claw that will give you the Blue Rock.
Have Frog lead your party and go to the Denadoro Mountains. Frog will catch a Gold Rock from a Free Lancer.
A chest in the Black Omen contains the White Rock.
