Cast




James Devita (Lucas) A native of Long Island, he is an actor and playwright. He is currently a company member of American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Jim is also the resident playwright at First Stage Milwaukee Theater for Youth. This year, his works for young people received the Distinguished Play Award presented by the American Alliance for Theater and Education. He makes his home in Spring Green, with his wife Brenda and son Gale. Back


David Fritts (Brian) is a KC actor whose previous Rep credits include Antipholous of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors, Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, Casca in Julius Caesar and Biff in Death of a Salesman. Other recent credits include Mojo at the Unicorn, Desert Holiday at the Westport Coffehouse, Rumors at the New Theatre and Richard III for the Heart of American Shakespeare Festival. Charles Goad (Ira) At the Indiana Repertory Theatre, he has appeared on the Mainstage in Cyrano de Bergerac, The Miser, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, On the Razzle, All My Sons and A Christmas Carol. He has also performed on the Upperstage in Rosa Parks, Great Expectations, Romeo & Juliet, Hard Times, Most Valuable Player, Huckleberry Finn, And Then They Came For Me, and Ride a Blue Horse. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis where he has appeared many times in their fifteen-year history, most recently in Company . Back


Gary Holcombe (Milt) Is blessed to be back on the stage of the Rep. Gary is blessed to be working with Ken Albers and best buddy Ted Swetz again. He's blessed to be teaching the second-year MFA candidates. He's especially blessed to be married to Donna Thomason. As you can see, he counts his blessings. Back


Jennifer Mays (Helen) Jennifer is excited to be back at the Rep, following The Last Night of Ballyhoo and Les Liaisons Dangereuses. A Joplin area native and graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she has spent most of the last 10 years in Kansas City. Her other local credits include Swingtime Canteen (American Heartland), Gypsy (New Theatre), Bonanza (Late Night Theatre), Rocky and Bullwinkly (Coterie), as well as several locally made television and film projects. Elizabeth Robbins (Carol) Having endured Ken Alber's withering bombast while playing Mae to his Big Daddy in the Rep's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof , Elizabeth finds herself in sort of the same position again. Most recently she appeared as Isabella in Measure for Measure and Jacquenetta in Love's Labours Lost , both at the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, where she will shortly play Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Lady Macduff (and one of the witches) in Macbeth . Back


Mark Robbins (Kenny) last appeared at the Rep as the Ghost of Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol . This is Mark's 100th Equity production, and he feels it fitting that it's taking place here. Back


Robert Spencer (Val) Robert has appeared on Broadway in Bye Bye Birdie, Enter Laughing, Via Galactice and Sextet ; Off-Broadway in The Fantasticks and Sing Muse , as well as many regional theatres throughout the country. He is a company member at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin, where he now resides. Robert also enjoys a career as a director with a wide range of productions to his credit. He is delighted to be working at the Rep. Back


Theodore Swetz (Max Prince) began his career with the N. Y. Shakespeare Festival and was an original member of the "Tony"-nominated American Players Theater, where he served as Asst. Artistic Director. Local directing credits include: A Comedy of Errors (the Rep), All In The Timing and Mojo (The Unicorn). This June he will stage the Rep's Shorts Festival at JCCC. Rep acting credits include: Gloucester (King Lear), Ben Franklin (Whisper in the Mind), and Argan (Imaginary Invalid). Ted teaches and directs in UMKC's Professional Theater Training Program. Back
