Welcome to the Books section. I have decided to add this section for those of you who would rather share the information about the Entlebucher and the other wonderful Mountain Dogs in print rather than on screen. If there are any books that you have seen that you would like me to add to this page, please do not hesitate to send the title, and, if possible, I will add it to this page. Thank you in advance.
The Bernese and Other Mountain Dogs
I have owned this book for a while, and I always show it to people who are interested in my dog. This book is good because it offers a lot of information on the Entlebucher, but at the same time allows you to compare the Entlebucher to the other types of Mountain Dogs to help you decide which dog would be best for your family and circumstances. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in owning some good literature about the breed.
Simon and Schuster's Guide to Dogs
This book is an excellent resource for those looking at dogs in general, who would like to find a breed that is perfect for their family. The book does mention the Entlebucher, as well as the Great Swiss, Bernese and Appenzeller Mountain Dogs, and offers overviews of each. What I like about this book is that it shares a breed's general personality, so that a person looking for a dog that is good with children for example, would find it with ease. This is another book that I have owned for years, and I think it is definately worth having.
This is one book that is definately worth having if you plan on owning an Entlebucher, or even if you are planning to get a dog of another breed. It covers everything from housebreaking the dog to teaching it bite inhibition. The book is organized so that it explains exactly what to do at every stage of the dog's life. Written by Dr. Ian Dunbar, a veternarian, a dog trainer, dog behaviourist and host of the television series "Dogs with Dunbar", this book is sure to bring results. Also available is Before You Get Your Puppy, which explains how to prepare your home for a puppy.
