1823 Sep 23 Culpeper Co, VA, John MOZINGO Sr. wrote his will. He mentioned his wife but did not name her. He named his children John SETTLE, Morgan SETTLE , Charles SETTLE, James SETTLE, Haillus SETTLE, Lucy SETTLE, Rachel SETTLE, and Cena SETTLE. He named two Grandchildren Mary MOZINGO daughter of George MOZINGO and Philip SETTLE son of Francis SETTLE deceased. He gave legacies to the unnamed children of Nancy SETTLE, wife of Isaac SETTLE and Hannie RICHESON, wife of Dapney (sic) RICHESON. Witnesses were James WILLIAMSON, William HOWELL [?], and Benjamin MOZINGO. The will was probated on 20 October 1823 (Probate Book I, pp. 159-160).

20 February 1826, the inventory of the estate of John MOZINGO was produced by the court appointed commissioners and recorded Morgan SETTLE, executor of the estate of John MOZINGO, produced his accounting in court on 30 September 1826. Money was paid to Dr. John FLETCHER, John H. DUNCAN, Charles MOZINGO, and William MENEFEE along with several others. Money was received from, among others, John H. DUNCAN, and William, John, Charles, and Levina MOZINGO.

19 October 1831, Levina MOSINGO (sic), wife of John MOZINGO, deceased, and John MORGAN and his wife Nancy, Charles, James, Hayless, and Ceneth SETTLE/LITTLE, and Joseph and Lucy WILLIAMSON, children and heirs of John MOZINGO, deceased, and John H. DUNCAN, sold land to Thomas HUGHES. The land is identified as that devised by the will of John MOZINGO. The land described is identical to the land given to John MOZINGO by Charles and Wilmouth MOZINGO on 10 April 1800.
