I was looking through your family database and saw that I could help
out a little. I am descended from Richard through his son Joseph,
through his son William. Joseph Samuel Mozingo was born 17 Nov 1877
and died 21 Dec 1942. He is buried in Arba, Greene County, NC in the
Old Hull Road Church Cemetery. He married Louise Elmore 19 Dec 1904
in Kinston, Lenoir County, NC. Her parents were William Henry and
Nancy (or Harriet) Elmore. Louise was born 20 Dec 1874 and died 29
Nov 1950 in Kinston, NC. She is buried beside her husband.

Richard's son William Mozingo was born 4 Nov 1906 and died 24 Apr
1992. He is buried in Pikeville Cemetery, Pikeville, Wayne County,
NC. He married Pauline [Cavenaugh] Carter on 12 May 1927 in Lenoir
County, NC. Her gravestone gives her birth (she was orphaned) as 15
May 1914, and she died 28 Feb 1998. She is buried beside her husband.
Annie Mozingo was born 23 Mar 1908 and died in Jul 1977. She married
Leon Colie, 23 Dec 1899 to Apr 1982. Nellie Mozingo was born 16 Mar
1910 and died 20 Sep 1987. She married Henry Bell, born about 1908.
I've been trying to find out who Pauline's parents were, so I haven't
had time to flesh out more of this family.

Richard and Lydia's daughter Cornelia Mozingo married Charlie R.
Murphy around 1903. This information comes from Joseph Samuel
Mozingo's obituary and was verified with census records. I don't know
if she had married George Coley in 1899, but she's listed as single in
1900 when she's living with her parents. ... Jarrod

... talked with Mary Evelyn Johnson Howard a few months ago. William Penn Mozingo was her grandfather.She gave me the following info....Christine

1.Richard Mozingo was born in 1855. Richard married Lydia Elmore daughter of James E. Elmore and Eliza. Lydia was born in 1865.

They had the following children:
