This choral group was founded in September 1998, originally to sing Christmas carols in the Village Green, at Llanrhystud, and to entertain people in the surrounding area. The performance base is now much broader.

The Morfa Singers started with 6 female voices, and by 2002 there were over 20 members. Numbers have since dropped to 8 diehards, and so the music is chosen appropriately in mainly 2 and sometimes 3 parts.

Their first competition was the Eisteddfod in Cardigan, year 2000. Although nervous they enjoyed the occasion and gained experience. The choir gave their first public concert in April 2001, and again entered the Cardigan Eisteddfod in July 2001, having improved greatly from the previous year. They now look and sound more professional, and have released a tape of music from their autumn 2001 concert, including local talented soloists.

"We could never have got this far without the direction and encouragement from our inspiring conductor and teacher, Anne Sampson. We have been lucky to have had a number of v.good keyboard players, who of course have numerous other commitments."
