Who are you?

Well, my name as you could have guessed is Guy. I'm a twenty-something guy, living in Brussels with my girlfriend and the coolest cat around, Ringo. I work for a Flemish governmental institution (revolution from within!) that helps unemployed people find a job by offering different kinds of courses, trainings, etc. The rest of my time I spend playing albums and air guitar, rehearsing with our band (Mr. Mama), reading stuff, following evening classes (in order to get my teacher's certificate), going to gigs and playing tiddlywinks.

Why the hell did you start this superfluous website of yours?

a) Because I'm way too much into music to do nothing with it.
b) because I like writing about stuff I like. In Dutch at least, we'll see about the quality of my English.
c) because Scott Floman said it was a good idea.

What are you going to review?

Whatever I want. First, I'll start off with some bands that I like, and that are, in my opinion, very underrated or neglected (by both the WRC (a Webring of about 2 dozen amateur music review sites) and music publications in general), and some other huge personal favorites. Once in a while, I'll also throw in some major bands, that have been covered by dozens of other sites, but which I think deserve it (or which may increase my hit count, yeah). This means you'll see no Beatles, Stones or The Who reviews on this page. Not in the near future, anyway.

What genres do you dig?

Although I started with lots of punk and loud guitar bands in my teens, I've steadily expanded my collection, and it now has albums from several sometimes very different genres. I like rock, country, pop, metal, punk, blues, jazz, etc. Genres I know next to nothing about are world music, dance, post-industrial electro-goth-metal and classical. Basically, I'll review albums from every genre that I think I can tell something about. Including comedy and spoken word albums.

No prog?

No. Well, not yet. I'm not really a prog fanatic. Moreover, my knowledge of prog is kind of limited to some classics (In the Court of the Crimson King, Fragile, Aqualung). Also: more than enough people in the WRC have focused heavily on prog, so please check out their sites.

How often are you going to update your site?

When I don't have to go to evening school, or when I'm not rehearsing, reading or playing tiddlywinks, then I might write one or more reviews. The site will be updated soon after I finish them. I guess I can manage to write at least 4-5 reviews a week. That should be a minimum.

Do you really think George Starostin is in fact 12 people working 18 hours a day?

Yes.

Do you maintain your website yourself?

No, using some magical tricks my girlfriend turns my Word-documents (or hand-written notes, thoughts and ideas) into a website. For a first, I think she did a very good job.

What are your favorite musicians/bands?

Can I send in my accusatory reader comments?

Yeah you can, and if you don't call me names, I'll post your opinion/suggestion/question too!

Hey, I really like your reviews. Can I use them on my site?

Sure, as long as you tell people that I wrote them. You wouldn't like it if someone stole your stuff either, would you?

Can I ask you something else?

Sure, just send me an e-mail.
