Issac Lobdell..........(son of Joshua Lobdell III and Sarah Scott)
Born March 8, 1755, Ridgefield, CT
Died March 24, 1838, Westerlo, NY

       When Isaac was young, his parents moved from Cortlandt Manor (Salem), Westerchester Co., NY to Lanesboro, MA where Isaac married Mirriam Pomeroy.  About 12 years after their marriage, they moved to Westerlo, Albany Co., NY where Mirriam died in 1802.

      Isaac was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.  He entered the service at Hancock, MA and was drafted in August 1778 for the term of three months.  He joined Capt. Joseph Barnes' Co. and Col. Simonds' Regiment and went to Pittsfield, MA, where he marched down through Danbury and Reading to New Fairfield.  There he joined his Regiment and went to Kinsbridge and joined General Washington's Army.  He was then ordered to Valentine's Hill where he and his Company and Regiment built a fort.  After that he marched to a place called Tuckahoe and on to White Plains and there engaged in the Battle.  He stayed there until November, when he was dismissed and returned home.

     In August 1779 he entered the service again at Hancock and joined Capt. Smith's Co. and immediately marched to Lake George and was at the taking of Burgoyne.  He was at Saratoga and other northward places until late fall of 1779, when he was discharged and returned home.

      On July 25, 1832, at 77 years of age and residing in Westerlo, NY, Issaac made an application for pension.  His pension was allowed for six months' actual service as a Private in the Massachusetts troops.  Witnesses to this was Wm. Wheaton and Simon Lobdell.

Married in Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA

Isaac and Mirriam had seven children:

(I)---Miriam Lobdell - (born Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA) m. James Jacox.  Miriam and James had no children of their own, thus adopting a son and daughter of Nelson Lobdell (Isaac, Jr.)

(II)--Lois Lobdell - (born Jan. 5, 1784, Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA - died Nov. 25, 1828, Chesterville, Albany Co., NY) m. July 11, 1802 in Chesterville, Albany Co., NY Joshua Tompkins

(III)-Anna Lobdell -  m.  Knight Bennett

(IV)-Isaac Lobdell, Jr. - (born Jan. 27, 1788, Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA - died Aug. 31, 1857, Westerlo, Albany Co., NY) m. twice:  (1) Jan. 28, 1813 in Westerlo, Albany Co., NY m. Nancy Udell  (2) about 1838 m. Lorinda Chapin

(VII)--**Princess Lobdell - (born March 15, 1800, Westerlo, NY - died April 15, 1874, Westerlo, NY) m. March 1818 Asa Keyes Jackson (born June 1, 1795 - ??), of Westerlo, son of Jeremiah Jackson and Martha Keyes

     The first mills in Albany County, New York were erected in 1795 at Westerlo by Isaac Lobdell and a Mr. Baker.  They were sold later to his sons, Isaac, Jr. and James Hervey, Sr.

Jerusha Lobdell..........(daughter of John Lobdell and Elizabeth Sherwood ...John is son of Joshua Lobdell II and Mary Reynolds)
Born March 3, 1769 in Salem, NY
Died May 2, 1849 in Westerlo, NY
Married Isaac after 1802

Isaac and Jerusha had three children:

(I)---Jerusha Lobdell - (born March 5, 1806)
(II)--James Hervey Lobdell, Sr. - (born July 14, 1810)
(III)-Lovisa Lobdell - (born Nov. 3, 1812)
