Our September 15, 2000 Meeting:

Wildcrafting

The Art of Gathering Wild Plants.

Discussion will center on which herbs are available in our area, are safe to pick and how to follow the wildcrafting rules to avoid overharvesting. Wild plants are abundant around us. We will share knowledge of how to use Nature's wealth of medicine, food and beauty. Bring any herbs you wild craft from your area and ideas about how you put them to use. Discussion is dependent on your input!

Meeting will be held at Maddy Perron's home at 258 Old Coach Road, New Boston.

August Meeting Notes

Wreaths were the focus of last month's hands-on meeting. Thanks to all who gathered and shared the fragrant herbs from their gardens and to those who donated wreath forms for all to use. Some of the herbs put to this art form were: mints, purple oregano blossoms, white and yellow yarrow and tansy buttons, meadowsweet, lemon verbena, sage, Joe Pye weed, and plenty of Silver King artemesia. With the table and floors overflowing with herbs, we all set right to work wiring, pinning and gluing our herbs to various wreath bases. Some chose to create very open airy grapevine based wreaths and some pinned tight bunches of herbs to cover straw wreath bases. One member even got very creative and wired together a trio of smaller grapevine wreaths! Stunning! It was delightful to see how different each wreath came out. All were dazzling!
