Format
TFF is changing the structure of the 2.Lig after this year. There are some changes in the format this year, in order to achieve the changes.
There will be newly created unified 2.Lig. However the naming of the league makes it confusing.
The new league will be called 2.Lig - A grubu (2.League - Group A). The rest of the teams in the 2.Lig will also carry the name 2.Lig with B Grubu at the end (2.League - Group B).
2.Lig - A Grubu will play with 20 teams and 2.Lig B Grubu will play with 50 teams in 5 groups as this year.
While 2.Lig A Grubu teams promote to 1.Lig, 2.Lig B Grubu teams will promote to 2.Lig A Grubu.
2.Lig A grubu relegate to 2.B Grubu and 2.Lig B Grubu teams relegate to 3.Lig.
In order to accomodate these changes the format of the 2.Lig is as follows:
The league will be played in three stages as before.
Stage 1:
This stage will be played in 5 groups with 10 teams each. The top two will qualify to Stage 2 - Play-off Group. The other will play the in Stage 2 - Classification Groups.
Stage 2:
Play-off Group will be played with 10 teams. They don't carry any points from Stage 1. Top two will qualify to 1.Lig. Teams third to fifth will qualify to Stage 3. Teams sixth to tenth will play in 2.Lig - A Grubu next year.
Classification Groups will play with eight teams each (CG2 with 9). They carry all stats from the Stage 1. The winner of each group qualifies to Stage 3. The second qualifies to 2.Lig - A Grubu. The bottom team in each group relegates to 3.Lig. The rest go to 2.Lig - B Grubu.
Stage 3:
8 teams (3 teams from Play-off Group and 5 teams from Classification Groups) play one game knock-out games at a neutral site. The winner promote to 1.Lig, the rest go to 2.Lig- A Grubu.

3 relegated teams from 1.Lig
5 teams from Play-off Group (Stage 2)
5 teams from Classification Groups (Stage 2)
7 teams from Stage 3
2.Lig - B Grubu (50):
26 teams from Classification Groups (Stage 2)
24 teams from 3.Lig
