After a slow start in his rookie season, in his second season as a Met, Koosman caught on fire and won more games (19) than even Tom Seaver. Koosman made the All Star game that season and then finshed second in Rookie of the Year voting.
     In 1969, Koosman had argueably his best year as a Met and helped lead the Mets to their first World Series Championship by winning 17 games. During the World Series, Koosman posted a 2.08 ERA and won both games he started.
     After suffering injuries in 1970 and 1971, Koosman won 14 games for the Mets in 1973 and helped lead the Mets to their second National League Championship. In the World Series that year, he threw seven innings of shutout ball to give the Mets one of their three victories. In 1976, Koosman won 21 games for the Mets and then left the team two years later.
