Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is a wonderful way to see New York. |
I'm happy in my Borough of Brooklyn. Here is a link to BrooklynX online. It's a great web site with all of Brooklyn happenings and a special listing of upcoming special and cultural events. You wouldn't believe how many websites there are for Brooklyn. BrooklynX above is my favorite but AboutBrooklyn.com is also really great. They have a Brooklyn Chat room, a page about apartment hunting, and lots of links to Brooklyn things like the Brooklyn Museum of Art. The children of Brooklyn are doing fabulous things. Just check out the BrooklynExpedition.org if you don't believe me. Children design and maintain this site. They explore different themes like last quarter was Latin America and this quarter its, surprise …. Brooklyn. PBS just aired a program called "A WALK AROUND BROOKLYN (PART 1) WITH DAVID HARTMAN AND HISTORIAN BARRY LEWIS". It was fantastic. The latest in Thirteen's series of New York walking tours, this program takes viewers across the East River into New York City's most colorful borough. David Hartman and historian Barry Lewis lead this fascinating video walking tour, which captures the heart and history of Brooklyn, from Coney Island and Crown Heights to comedian Alan King's Williamsburg homecoming. The "urban safari" includes stops at Coney Island, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, Junior's Restaurant, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and other celebrated landmarks. There are some wonderful things in Brooklyn. I recently toured the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and I was amazed at this thing of beauty in the middle of the urban sprawl. If you are ever visiting New York, you must take some time and look around the borough of Brooklyn |
