~How it all started~
Mel and I first met over five years ago. At the time she was with someone and so was I. We casualy knew each other through work. My first year there I didn't really talk to her. She was always so quiet and keep mostly to herself. We started off in the same department but I was soon moved to another. I never saw her after that. It wasn't until about a year and six months later that we really hit it off. I had just ended a six month fling and was a little heartbroken. She came along just in time to put the pieces back together. We hung out alot outside of work. My new girlfriend and I would often stay at Mel's house while she was out partying with her friends. Things in my life were a mess. I lived in a one room apartment with a roommate who to say the least was a handful. I stayed at Mel's alot so eventually I ended up moving in with her..as roommates. One night at a party her brother was having, (and way too much to drink ) I ended up spilling the beans on how I felt about her. She caught me totally by surprise. I just liked so many things about her. Her pretty blonde hair, her smile, the way she laughed, and how sweet she was. She has always told me she had an eye on me for awhile. (She's a sucker for that dark hair) I ended my current relationship and shortly after she did too.
The thing was no one knew we were dating. We hadn't told anyone because we were afraid of what might happen. It was a couple of months before we came out to everyone , but the rumors had been flying all along. Finally Oct 31 at her best friends Halloween party we decided everyone would know. We showed up together as a couple for the first time. Which is why we made Halloween our anniversery and we've been together ever since.
I can honestly say Mel is the best thing to ever come along in my life. Sure, like any couple we have had our ups and downs but, we learned (and stil learn lol) how to work through things and stand beside each other no matter what. This is something that is not aways easy but we have prevailed nonetheless.
If the law would allow us, we would be married. We've built a life together and made a home for ourselves in a small town of Ohio. We have big plans for the furture and are working hard towards buying our first home. We would love to have a house out in the country with a nice big porch, lots of trees and flowers, and most importantly, a yard for our dogs to run.
We enjoy doing things together and each others company. She can still make me laugh *grin* and she enjoys my sillyness. We love spending time with our dogs and other beasties, traveling to California every year to visit my family and the ocean. lol For the most part we are happy and very much in love.
