Wing Chun Forms | ||||
Unlike many other
martial arts, the forms in Wing Chun are not a sequence of moves.
Rather they are a list of movements! If we take boxing as a
comparison: a jab, a hook, an uppercut is a list of movements.
However, jab, jab, hook and then uppercut is a sequence of moves.
The forms in Wing Chun do not teach you how to use or apply the movements, but everything you will ever do in Wing Chun will be evident in the forms. The forms do much more than this though, they develop your Gong Lik and teaches you relaxation and above all control. |

There are three
hand forms in Wing Chun: Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu and Bil
Jee
Below is a complete count of the movements in the First Wing Chun Form. It is not meant as a way of teaching the form, merely a reminder for those learning them. Later, counts for the second and third hand forms will appear here too. |
