A
new cap against the U.S.A. in 1994, he played against France,
Scotland and Argentina, when he scored two tries, but missed
the '95 Fiji-New Zealand tour through injury. Started in the
three '95 World Cup games, in South Africa. Played in the 1999
Rugby World Cup.
Has
played in 21 Sevens tournaments for Canada, including Hong Kong
1994, 1995, 1996. Helped Canada qualify at Lisbon for 1997 World
Cup and played in the 1997 World Cup Sevens in Hong Kong. Played
exceptionally well at the Commonwealth Games 1998 where Canada
finished fifth.
In
the 1999-2000 WSS, Winston played in 10 tournaments, winning
the Plate in NZ and won the Cup at the RWC qualifying tournament
in Chile. Scored 34 tries for Canada in the inaugural WSS for
170 points, as Canada took 56th place in the world.
In
January 2001, Winston played for the Canada squad in the RWC
Sevens, where Canada finished in the top eight.
