The women of Iron Town are the ones that work at the foot bellows of the furnaces.

All this women were former prostitutes but Lady Eboshi bought their contracts saving them from that life. Although they work in shifts of four days near the furnaces they are all happy with their new life. As they say, 'at least here we eat what we want and men don't bother us...unless we want!'

The Iron Town's women are much more independent than the other women from that time and that's why some men kept seeing them as libertines.

All the women were trained in how to shoot (at least) so that when Iron Town was attacked by Lord Asano and the Lady and all the skirmishers were away, they could defend pretty well their homes. The majority of them also simply hate San, 'the witch', because her and her wolf family killed some of their husbands, leaving them widows.
