It is ONLY a conjecture that he is the father of John Reed who m. Thankful
Honowell..

Wingfield K.G. to William Naunton and Elizabeth his wife of a manor of
"Estone", dated 27 june 2 Edw VI [1548]. This might refer to Martley Hall,
Easton.

- Esquire to the body to the king, was knighted by his royal master, Henry VIII,
for his conduct a Theroueune and Tournay, made subsequently comptroller at the
household, and installed at Windsor, a knight of the garter, 8th May 1541. He
was likewise constituted vice-chamberlain of the household, and captain of the
guards. In the will of King Henry, he was a legatee to the amount of L200,
was nominated one of the executors, and assigned of the council to Edward VI.
Sir Anthony wedded Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Sir George de Vere, knight,
and sister and co-heir of John, thirteenth Earl of Oxford, by whom he left at
his decease. [Baronetcies of England, Ireland, & Scotland, by John Burke Esq.
and John Bernard Burke, Esq., 1844, p. 574] (Same source lists 8 children,
including Elizabeth m. to William Naunton esq.) ... Sir Anthony d. 6 Edward VI
and was s. by his eldest son, Sr. Robert Wingfield [Burke & Burke p. 574]

Amongst the Charters in the British Museaum is a quit claim by Sir Anthony
Wingfield K.G. to William Naunton and Elizabeth his wife of a manor of
"Estone", dated 27 june 2 Edw VI [1548]. However, the manor passed to
Anthony's brother, Sir Thomas Wingfield who died in 1609, when it vested in Sir
Anthony Wingfield, 1st Bart. and on his death 30 July 1638, passed to his son
and heir Sir Richard Wingfield, 2nd Bart. [Encl-4, Easton, Martley Hall]
