Son Eugene was declared insane and committed to State Hospital in Danville, Pa and was transferred to Wernersville, Pa in 1894. Pension affidavits for Bennett were given by 81st men: Dr. John Houston, Lt. Col. William Wilson, and Lt. John Brelsford.
