Sergeant William Callaghan
William Callaghan as a young man during his enlistment and as an older man in his GAR uniform.
William was badly wounded at Spotsylvania and taken prisoner. He was taken to Andersonville. He was mustered out on 6/12/65. He worked in Washington, D.C. with the Printing and Engraving Bureau until his death. He is buried, according to his wishes, with his "old comrades who fought for the Union" in Arlington National Cemetery. He was interred on 2/28/04 in section 13, grave 14570.
