Just off the slope of East cemetery Hill heading toward Steven's knoll is a often not visited spring called "Menchey's Spring". most visitors to Gettysburg see Spanglers Spring since it is part of the auto tour but Menchey's Sping is often overlooked. It is still in working order and not capped off like Spangler's Spring so its a great spot to stop and wash your face much like it was 140 years ago. From the Sping looking at East Cemetery Hill you can get a glimpse of The Cemetery Gatehouse. After the auto tour stop of Stevens Knoll proceed down the hill to a rock with a big "33" on it. At that intersection make a right and Menchey's Spring will be on your right about 200 feet.
