On July 2nd 1863 Latimer's Battalion/Raine's Brigade took position on Benner's Hill with a severe cannonaide that lasted over two hours. they supported the attack of Johnston's Infantry on Culp's Hill and did not retire until dark.there were 8 casulties and three horses killed.
From Benners Hill looking west there is a great view of the town of Gettysburg and to the south a great view of Culps Hill.This is a great place to see the sunset in the evening and offers a breathtaking view of the mountain range to the west From Benner's Hill you can also get a great view of Wolfe's Hill to the southeast and Culp's Hill to the south.
