Capt. Scully
Captain William Scully of the U.S. Navy was the father of Dana Scully and her three siblings. He and his daughter shared a love for Hermin Melville's Moby Dick; he called her "Starbuck" and she called him "Ahab." Even after his death(Beyond the Sea), William, Sr. continued to be close to Scully. In One Breath, he visits her when she is close to death. Capt. Scully was upset that his daughter chose to leave medicine for the FBI, and Scully was always afraid that he was not proud of her. However, she learns that he was proud of her, because he was her father.
